Carlee Bushong Jr. Obituary (1960 - 2022)

Carlee Bushong JR, 62, of Mayflower, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on December 22, 2022 after a brave, 13 month battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He was born at home on June 13, 1960 in Chicago, IL to Carlee Bushong SR & Shirley Duncan Bushong. He was preceded in death by his father, Carlee Bushong SR and a sister, Lindasue Bushong-Kovacks. Carl was a professional truck driver of over 40 years. He was an extremely hard worker and took great pride in his profession. He was able to travel to all 48 contiguous states and truly loved what he did. If you asked him his favorite place to travel to it would be Florida. He much preferred the sun and the sand versus the cold and snowy weather. He had big dreams of becoming a snowbird once he retired. During his forced early retirement after his cancer diagnosis he enjoyed playing with his German Shepherd puppy, Diesel, sitting on the porch shooting at the birds and eating popsicles. He is survived by the love of his life and mother of his children, Balinda Bushong. They have 3 children who he was extremely proud of. A daughter Jessica Pelkey (Adam) And two sons, Carlee Bushong III (Nikki) and Tyler Bushong (Devin) He loved being a G-Dad to: Raleigh, Bricen, Elijah, Liam, Hunter, Tate, Ella, Emilia and Esther. He also leaves behind his Mother, Shirley Bushong, and his Sisters, Brenda Allred (Randy) Barbara Thompson (David) Shelley Thomsheck (Joshua) and numerous extended family, and friends. The family would like to express a special thanks to CARTI and Conway Regional Hospital for the loving care they provided from his diagnosis up until the very end. A Celebration of Life for Carl will be held on Saturday January 28th 4pm at New Life Church of Cabot, 107 Commercial St., Cabot.
