Era Kornegay Obituary (1946 - 2023)

Era Kornegay, born on August 24, 1946 in Diboll, Texas, passed into eternal rest on July 1, 2023. She resided in Morrilton, Arkansas, where she was known and loved by many. Era dedicated her professional life to the medical field where she served as a Respiratory Therapist until her retirement. Her kind heart and passion for helping others touched countless lives in her community. An ardent lover of people, Era found joy in the simple things of life. She cherished the outdoors, frequented flea markets, and adored her beloved pets. Era was a devoted wife to her husband, Joe Kornegay, and a loving mother to her sons, Brian Krafczyk, Artie Kimbrough, and William Kimbrough. She was also a cherished sister to Leo Carnley, Jimmy Carnley, Velma Rash, Margaret Glover, and Carolyn Welch. Era was an adored grandmother and great-grandmother, leaving behind a rich legacy. She was also an aunt to a host of nieces and nephews who deeply loved her. Era was preceded in death by her parents, James and Leonia Carnley. Era lived her life guided by the principles of the Baptist faith, particularly the Anabaptist way of life. Her faith was a beacon of hope and strength to those around her. As it is written in the book of Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Era embodied this verse, her actions reflecting the love and grace of her faith. Service will be Friday July 7,2023 at 3:00 pm, at the T.C.Vaughn Center. Br. Blake Martin officiating
